Hull & Renovation FAQ

How much does hull repair cost in Phuket?

+

Hull repair costs start from $5,000 for minor fibreglass work and range to $200,000+ for complete respray and structural renovation of a large vessel. Gelcoat repair runs $150-300 per square metre. A full Awlgrip respray on a 50-foot motoryacht typically costs $35,000-50,000. Phuket rates sit 30-50% below equivalent European work.

How long does osmosis treatment take?

+

Osmosis treatment takes 3-6 weeks. The hull is peeled to bare laminate, then dried for a minimum of 2-4 weeks (we monitor moisture content daily). After achieving target readings, we apply a multi-layer epoxy barrier coat followed by antifouling. Rushing the drying phase is the most common mistake in this work — we never cut this step short.

Can you repair aluminium and steel hulls?

+

Yes. Our certified welders handle aluminium (TIG welding) and steel hull repairs including plate replacement, frame reinforcement and corrosion treatment. We also apply specialised protective coating systems designed for metal hulls in tropical saltwater conditions.

What guarantee do you provide on hull work?

+

We provide written warranties on all hull repair work. Structural fibreglass repairs carry a 24-month warranty. Paint and coating systems are covered by manufacturer warranties (Awlgrip provides up to 24 months). Osmosis treatment carries a 36-month warranty against recurrence when our drying and application protocol is followed in full.
